Durability

I have been pushing the GTR to the limit for the last 2 weeks. I was riding at almost full throttle most of the time. I rode it for about 100-120km every day.

I am doing this to evaluate the durability of the machine because I am thinking or riding it for a long distance journey later this year.

But the result is not very good. I have an oil leaking from one of the nut near the exhaust pipe. The valves also have started to make a little clicking sound.

The tyres have also started to worn out. I already feel some problem when I rode over white line on the road.

I will continue riding at maximum speed for a few more days before I make any decision to take for a long trip later this year.

I will update this blog on my findings.

I am pretty happy but...

I have been riding the GTR for about 1500km now since last repaired by NAZA Bikes. I have not encountered any problem with the transmission.

But there is new concern now. I have been riding it hard for the last two weeks. I kept it at maximum speed for almost 45 minutes every riding session. I just wanted to clarify some reliability issues before I ride it in a long distance convoy.

A few days before Aidilfitri, I was riding at a speed around 120km/h chasing a Honda Wave 125 X when the engine suddenly died. I glide freely for a while before the engine suddenly restarted.

I was quite worried so when I exit the highway, I stopped and have a quick checked. Everything seem fine but I kept wondering why the engine died while traveling at high speed.

I suspected engine overheating due to excessive speed.

I retried the same event today (but today I chased a Honda Wave S 125 instead) but the engine did not died. But before doing so, I have added some additive to improve lubrication.
